Adult coloring books are digitally provided by means of e-books and digital applications. This act relaxed the customers as they would have been embarrassed to buy them in real life. This was theorized by Dominic Bulsuto about the spread of this practice. The first successful pieces of the books were outsourced in 2012 and 2013. As many emphasize on this genre, there are many who criticize it. Author Susan Jacoby says that this practice is the beginning of a great cultural shift. He blamed the Great Recession for this shift as adults couldn’t manage to find employment. On the other hand, Blogger Dominic Bulsuto describes the practice as “stuck in The Shallows, mindfully coloring books to counter the existential angst of living in a digital society.”  He proclaims this trend as being a good thing for sure. He came to this conclusion as adults were now readily buying books they want to buy rather than the books they are supposed to buy.
